(anyone with 6 buttons will be fine, ps2,xbox,dreamcast,pc,another...)
As it goes, I don't know which converter you were using for the PS2 pad, but... well, it didn't seem to work so well with either of the pads I have.
The XBox one was the least useful; the up and down of the left-stick controlled the left and right movement of the ship, while up and down movement was controlled by the right and left triggers respectively. Only the Y/Yellow (top-most of the four) button seemed to do anything, being normal-fire (and getting me through the menus).
The other pad I have is a Thrustmaster PC/PS2 (dual-ended cable) pad, where the analogue stick worked for movement, but this time only two of the buttons worked. Button 4 (Triangle) gave me normal-fire and Button 3 (Circle) did what I presume was homing shot - a collection of blue roundish things that homed from enemy to enemy for a little while. Hunting around for the other two fire buttons caused the game to error when I pressed some buttons, popping up an abort/ignore box... ignoring caused the game to malfunction, firing no longer did anything but play sounds.
... any chance of a keyboard-based control config to sidestep these issues?
The game itself looks promising, and I certainly enjoyed the early parts of the stage where normal-shot was fine for taking down the grunt enemies, but after I started getting larger enemies with health bars showing up I was having trouble killing them before they left the bottom of the screen with normal-shot. Is this intentional, or should I have been able to take them down with the other modes of fire I couldn't find joypad buttons for? I found the homing enemies (they looked a bit like cruise missiles?) that come at you from behind a little frustrating, but I wonder whether I missed a cue for them, I didn't have much time to spend on it, unfortunately.
Thank you for the report.
I use 'super joybox3' converter, i will now work on input keyboard command and pad configuration to avoid those kind of problems.
(it was supposed to work, but seem buggy when i try it before i upload the beta)
About the gameplay, you can kill ALL enemy, if you use correctly all weapons,
Green bonus fill your E-battery gauge, you need E-battery to shoot all secondary weapon.
-Main shoot...
-Homing shoot (usefull on little enemy, it can destroy all little unit on the srceen)
-Piercing shoot (usefull on big enemy, remove 1/4 of life most of time)
-Charge shoot (sort of big Piercing shoot, it can't be stop by little or medium enemies, usefull to destroy more than one medium enemy on the same line)
-Bomb (you need full E-Battery gauge, it remove between 100% to 50% of life on medium and big enemies)
Like in Dragon Blaze you have to make a good use of all weapon and all will become a lot easier.
EDIT : Cheese, finally it was nothing (phew), gamepad configuration work fine now, so i guess you'll can config any 6 buttons pad right now.
So on main menu go to option, the only thing for no is the pad config, when is done you'll get back automatically on main menu with your new config, anyway for now your config can't be saved, i'll begin to work on it tommorrow.
I will upload the correction for pad config in few minutes.
