I reduced the size of the player ship and removed the blur from bullets. I had to rewrite part of my bullet scripter to decouple bullet behavior ( like homing or laser ) from attributes( texture, size, speed, etc. ). Also, another thing you might find interesting is that currently you can change the following without having to recompile.
-Ships
-Bullets( Attributes not Behavior )
-Textures
-Music
-Shaders( if not using Uniform other that sampler2D )
-Ship Spawn and Movement
-Bullet Patterns for Spawned ships
I'm currently playing around with bullet patterns trying to see which ones are the most fun.
