Re: Verne-X - By William Cairns & Richard Ramsbottom - Disqualified

This game does not function on 2/3 judges machines and has therefore been disqualified.

Any indication of what problems were experienced? There is a problem with sound in the version sent to the judges but the readme clearly indicated how to turn off the sound.

Re: Verne-X - By William Cairns & Richard Ramsbottom [DISQUALIFIED]

The sound was disabled on my computer and I got it to run..  The playable part is where it suffered..   I gave it an aweful review considering I could skip all the levels and the bosses by simply moving through the walls.  The other judges couldnt get to run despite disabling the sound.  I'm not judging you guys or anything, but I am saying the game was the worst I played in the compo, as it definately didnt seem near finished at all.  (seemed like an Alpha v 0.001 release  Embarrassed)

Re: Verne-X - By William Cairns & Richard Ramsbottom [DISQUALIFIED]

Very strange that. All other people that have played the game (includeing the judges for the PGD contest) have not had any of those problems (and the entry here was the same as handed in for the PGD stage 3 contest) Sad

Cheers

Re: Verne-X - By William Cairns & Richard Ramsbottom [DISQUALIFIED]

Removed the sound engine I was using in the game and went back to another version (thats not as nice but should not crash PCs).

Found the problem with the fly through walls - Goes to show how being a tester down impacted our project.

The new version is here:
