Contest Roadmap

----------------------1--------------------------
Three Judges are going to judge all the games, this is going to take awhile so please be patient

     ----------------------2--------------------------
A special site will be created to showcase all the games, it will be loaded with reviews, screenshots, and a video.  It will also heavily display our sponsors for this contest!

          ----------------------3--------------------------
Once the site is completed, I will heavily advertise it, and all the world will find it and enjoy the games!!

               ----------------------4--------------------------
Dragon SHMUP Competition will be announced shortly after, if you would like to sponsor please PM me and we'll talk!!  The Dragon SHMUP competition only requires people build a shmup of any type that has the main character a being a dragon that spits fireballs.  More details about this competition will be announced when we reach this point! Re: Contest Roadmap

So, best keep the theme of the next contest a secret. Wink
Otherwise some will start working on their entry a little sooner. And if the contest rules won't be changed  somehow, they'll have a big surpise. Grin

Re: Contest Roadmap

The next contest would probably have constraints other than the vague "dragon" thing, so it would take a bit of luck if a person pre-develops a game. Most people won't want to gamble their free time that way.

I guess the current announcement is okay; no concrete details are given anyway.

I think the "only" in their already answers the question about any additional rules Smiley

^_^

I think the best we can do is wait for Matt's official announcements. There may be a twist somewhere.

Re: Contest Roadmap

Yeah, like 'underwater theme' or 'dragon has three heads', or 'catch a princess some time in the game'...  I think I'd take this time to optimize a 'shmup' code template rather than trying to get a headstart on the next contest, that way you'd be ready for whatever is thrown at us in the future!  laugh

The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw.

Re: Contest Roadmap

Yeah. I personally would start learning OpenLayer. I do intend on entering the next contest, and I think polishing my programming skills would be a better time investment that rushing for a headstart.
