Github is nice but...

Postby Pixel_Outlaw » Wed Jan 06, 2016 7:57 am

Sorry I've been away for so long.

The corporate life turns one into a zombie if you let it.

*ahem* anyway.

I just wanted to say that I feel that Github is a great site and service.
However it just doens't provide a community like we have here.

I think it is really important to do more than just toss up code and say 'take it or leave it'.
Community is nice to have too beyond bug reports and patches.

Here's to a great 2016!
I'm looking for members who are interested in Shmups still and friends they may have.

I really want to bring this community back to what it was in 2008 or so!
Let's work hard to build a community of nice people!

I agree it would be great to get back the interest in shmups that we had before. Perhaps a competition is required.

I'd be in favor. :)

I remember (and miss) the Rapid Prototyping Sessions from 2008-2010. I even made a webpage for them though some of the information was lost due to the voting pages being broken and unreadable.

Hey guys!

It has been a looooong time indeed :-) What a coincidence that I visit this forum today since ages and have to see that kdmiller3 just typed the above.
Yes, a RPS or compo would be fun. Have some projects to finish up first but once I'm done I'd (try to) be all in.

Cheers,

Hornet600S was it before
