The only real suggestion I would make is to create some more dev specific forums, similar to the old forum structure.

Agreed, the new site looks great -- even though I'm a pretty infrequent visitor, I'm happy to see this site live on!
As my own brief addendum to the above request, please don't try to completely mimic the old forum's structure -- it ended up being a lot of forums with only minimal activity in the majority of them, and I think it makes for a far better community to have less forums with a reasonable amount of activity in each. What you have now looks pretty good -- you can always add more forums later if you find they get too busy.
Would love to see something along the lines of a more shmup-centric version of the dev-master engine database added to the front page.
